In crystallography, a crystal system is a set of point groups, which are groups of geometric symmetries with at least one fixed point. Crystal systems are one of three ways to classify crystals, alongside lattice systems and crystal families, though the term is sometimes confused with those other classifications. Space groups are classified into crystal systems according to their point groups.
